I've said it before but it bears repeating...

My favorite Christmas Carol: On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me... 12 well-done wieners, Eleven links of bratwurst Ten franks a-steaming Nine footlong hot dogs Eight to a package Seven grilled-up tubesteaks Six push-cart specials Five dirty water dogs... Four Hebrew National's Three Oscar Meyers Two Nathan's franks, and a hot dog in a toasty warm bun. ciao. Junie

Hot Dogs for LIFE!

Hiya Pals! I hope all my blog friends are okay...We are doing fine since the hurricane and nor'easter. We had a little hiccup but bounced back. I'd like to thank Auntie Linda and the Grayhart girls for welcoming me, Ma, Da, Haze & Grammy and keeping us safe and dry during the evacuation of our town during the stupid hurricane. We always feel "at home" there and despite the conditions outside, inside was comforting! We didnt get to play with the little rockstars, but we heard them!!! They are awesome little pups. We hope you get power back and all the "stuff" can get all fixed up soon.

Now...the main reason for this post is to show off my latest and greatest collar Da bought for me a few weeks ago!! We ALL KNOW how much I love the hot dogs and even Ma and Da's co workers must know too, because a lady that worked with Da showed him a new line of dog stuff one day and said, this one looks like it is right up June's alley! BOL Boy, is she right. It might be hard to see unless you blowup the picture, but it has the food of the gods on it :-) Rosettes, medals and pearls aside, THIS, my friends, is the best. neckwear. ever.
Oh, and if any of you are wondering... YES. I DO NEED a new braided leather lead to coordinate! Ma said something about ordering one for this and 2 others for me and Haze from Kim M. -- With so many gorgeous color combos available, a doggy can never have too many leashes and collars!

Due to the hurricane, our governor postponed trick or treating so these photos were taken right after Halloween. As you can see we BOTH are little devils, but Haze didnt really want to play dress-up. hehehe
Hopefully, Ma wont get too busy again over the next weeks or so so that I can borrow her 'puter again for some more photos and adventure updates. Until next time, be well.

ciao. June

NOBODY Rains on Our Parade!!

Today was the Garden State Weim Club's Annual Fall Specialty! The forecast was for rain, but the (dog) show must go on... Me and Ma got there early (well not exactly as early as we told our friend, Bree to get there...oops!) and the rescue booth was set up. Also stopping by to visit and watch us were Roger and Tomoyo. creators of Dog in Charge!! Soon, it was time for the club to start the festivities. Now, for any of you who've never been to a dog show, first we have the Sweepstakes and pick best puppy and best veteran (male and female) and then we have the Specialty which is different classes of dogs and bitches competing for Winner's Dog and Winner's Bitch to earn Championship points and advancement to Best of Breed competition... the show started and all us rescue Weims gathered to watch and wait for our turn. Our turn? Rescues? In the ring? Do tell!! The club also holds a Rescue Parade at the show right before the awesome buffet lunch where we get a chance to shine. Of course, the skies opened up about 15 in before we started, but we outshined the clouds! Each of us got to prance around the showring, while a member of the club read a little bio about us. Ma over heard a few people saying how choked up they got hearing some of our stories. As we exited the ring, we got MEDALS!!!! And a stuffie toy/prize. Auntie Linda took our group photo under the tent so we wouldnt get any wetter than we already were BOL. In order we are: Remi, Vegas, Gunther, Nena, Gracie, Yours truly, Casey and Arrow To round out the day our friend (Trixie's daughter, bred by Auntie Linda) Mia went Winner's Bitch/ Best of Winners and our friend Parker (Jam's Daddy) was Judge's GCH Select. Ma also won THREE prizes in the club's raffle :-) Congratulations!! We are all Weima-WINNERS today :-)

What? Labor Day? Summer's OVER?

Me with the retrieving bumper... I think it's a GIANT HOT DOG!!

WOW! Summer flew by. One day we were on LBI and then all the sudden it's September! Well, we had a PAWsome Labor Day weekend...me and Haze got to sneak to a lake for some swimming and retrieving and we had a BLAST! Da took some cool pictures and even got some video!!! Ma said I was really swimming on some of my turns; not just wading in up to my pits! BOL
Haze was really swimming...he went in on a "blind retrieve" and found the bumper and SWAM far to get it and bring it into Ma. She was so excited. Lots of YAYs and her and Da were SO PROUD of how good we were, they even high 5'd each other! So silly.
We hope to sneak up there again sometime soon 'cause it is PERFECT... all fenced in, no one to bother us (we are trespassing though BOL) and GEESE!
ciao for now. ~June

Are you ready for the summer?

I am! I got "beach" fuzz BOL!

A few weeks ago, Ma's cousin Mare came to visit and we took a pre-vacation trip down the shore!!! Me and Haze had a blast in the water. We played in the waves at the ocean and then after a little rest (while the humans ate lunch) we mosied over to the bay for some more retrieving. I went in far, but not too deep...I didnt want to get my fur wet.
We are looking forward to a week of sun and fun and I'll catch you all up when we get back! Stay cool, blog friends.

ciao,
 ~June

Strut My Butt....

Um, I mean Strut YOUR Mutt! BOL Sunday was the annual doggy walkathon for Ma's friend's all breed rescue Happy Tails Animal Rescue and I went! Each year, Ma's rescue used to sponsor a 5k and so we would alternate which event we went to each year, even though we always had fun with HTAR. Since TSWR no longer sponsored this race, we were able to go!!! We invited Auntie Linda and her gray girls and I gotta tell you, we were a HIT!
So many people were impressed with how well behaved we were and how pretty we are! We had so much fun... strutting our stuff. There was contests and raffles and snacks and prizes. For humans and doggies. Ma won one of the raffle baskets... some wine and glasses (WTG, Ma!!) and me and the Grayhart Girls won some competitions!!!! You know, I'm not much of a competitor in the same venues as my pals, Trixie, Jam and Savi, but I held my own and even WON a ribbon!!! :-) For the second year, I was crowned "Best Chowhound"! Defending my title, this year I got a ribbon that proclaims: Most Eager Eater 2012. Ma now I can add my MEE title after my name! It was easy for me since we all know how much I love to eat...even weird stuffs! So it was an animal cracker, a matzoh, cheese doodle, carrot, lettuce and..... a pickle! The dog trainer running the contest could not beleive her eyes... we Weims were eating it all! It came down to a 3-way-tie and the run off was another carrot but this time, speed was the key. I gobbled mine so fast and I heard Auntie Linda shout Junie's done!!! Jam and Trixie tied for second place. We all got a baggie of yummy treats. Another contest was longest down-stay. I listen real good so Ma figured to try me at that to and I was doing so good... Next to Savi keeping watch on Ma... a few dogs moved or broke when the trainer walked through with a Boxer or bouncing a tennis ball. I stayed. Then Ma too a step back and I flinched. Out. :-( But I stayed on to cheer and watch the girls... first Jam went out, then eventually Savi leaving Trixie and the trainer's lab. Trixie even conquered her out-of-sight stay and then more tennis ball tossing. Not knowing what else to tempt them with, the trainer declined to toss treats and announced a tie. Trixie got the ribbon and the lab got some treats! We also got to really show how "nice" we are when there was a young visually impaired boy wanting to pet us. First Jam, since she is really a certified Delta Dog... he even got to give her a treat and you could see his whole face light up! He then went on to pet Savi and came near me. Ma explained that he could pet me too ad he was so gentle and told his parents i was soft "like a pillow!!" He liked me! He really liked me!! It was very touching becuase I know Ma is so proud of the wonderful therapy sessions Jam and Auntie Linda have and now we could experince that same heartwarming moment. Jam also greeted a few seniors in wheelchairs while we were walking around the pond. Oh, the pond!!! FULL. OF. GEESE. Guess who wanted to jump in after them?? ME!!!! After all that excitement, we went for some lunch and me and Ma went on a three mile walk with Jam and Auntie Linda. I had such a fun day and we all get along so nicely. I hope we can do it again soon! ciao. ~June

¡¡Cinco de Meyer!!

so, get this...I got to go to Cinco de Weimo this year and you know me... all I want is a few hot dogs! And, well-deserved I might add! BOL I mean Ma and Da have been promising me "lots of" ever since the Coffee Incident and I just knew Saturday was THE DAY!! I was counting down the moments until I could bite into a juicy hot dog! I had over heard Ma and her rescue group planning the menu so I knew they'd be there waiting for me... JL got there around noon with the trays and as soon as it was all set up I got my first one. Da made sure I got my first one from him. Each time he gave me one, he reported the tally to Ma...little did he know she snuck me one around 2:30! Well, after that, I set about to check in with my pals...so many friends from picnics past and a few new ones! Everyone was complimenting me in my fuzzy fur that's grown in recently and they also noticed how hard I've worked at getting back in shape since Haze came to live with us! I just kinda spent the rest of the time bopping around trying to get some suckers, I mean friends, to sneak me a hotdog or two... no luck. :-(
Then at the end of the day (well not really the end of the day, but we had to leave early) Da wanted to show off our skills (his dog training and my stellar obedience)... so he laid the last hot dog down and got me to sit, down and leave it/wait... I was so good, drooling but not moving a muscle just waiting for my beautiful reward and along comes Jordan and he STOLE MY LAST HOT DOG! I nearly lost it... but Da went and got me another one and I got it "free"!!! Grand tally: FIVE Cinco de Meyer. get it... five Oscar Meyer ciao. ~Junie

Fellow Weim Rescue Events!

Wanted to lend a helping paw and share a few fellow Weim rescue’s upcoming events... **First up is Louisville Weim Rescue. They have their annual Weim and Cheese Fundraiser coming up. Ma’s friend, Christina(Who is Sagira, Starr, Bokeh & Harley’s Mom) has an important job with this rescue. She is their Relinquishment Coordinator and she is also involved with obtaining donations for the Weim & Cheese. (Another friend of Ma’s, SaraRenee desinged their awesome poster!) Here is the poster:
and you read more about the event on: Sagira’s Blog.
Also, LWR is looking for Foster Homes...Ma’s rescue has been helping them out by taking in some fosters because their waitlist is soooooo long and too many weimies need a new place to go! Recently, TSWR took in a boy all the way from Kentucky and placed him in his furever home and they are working on a few more coming across state lines to NJ/PA/DE soon!

**Next is another fundraiser is being held this weekend for some gray, blue, white, longhaired and PINK friends on the west coast. Hosted by the Friends of Tickled Pink Weim Rescue, is a silent auction in Las Vegas! Some of the lot#’s can be bid online on: their facebook page as well! We donated a few prizes tom help them out and we have bids out on a few items and are hoping to win :-)

**Recently, NYSWR had an ebay auction to help raise money for 6 pups in foster. Ma won 2 original paintings of (what else?) Weims! Although the auction is over, they still have a few fundraising items for sale on: their website

**Do any of you know Hans WatchMeLearn Green? He is just about the sweetest foster failure we know (next to Haze, of course!) He was with Arkansas Weim Rescue and in March, he was officially adopted. He and his “compawdres” are mentioned in the AWR’s cookbook and if you ordered a special edition, you were able to get one with his PAWTOGRAPH! They sold out in no time so now, they are collecting recipes for a SECOND EDITION and... Ma is helping Honsy’s mama raise more money for AWR by creating a design based on his very special Ponsy Prayer! Stay Green and Stay Tuned to his: fb page for more info...

***And, Last but certainly not least......Not to be missed is this year’s TriState Weim Rescue’s Cinco de Weimo!!! Ma’s rescue is holding its Annual Picnic and Raffle Fundraiser this year on May 5th. If you and your Weims are local, you gotta’ come! You can RSVP by clicking on: the invitation TSWR also has 2 BIG FUN fundraisers coming up in May (an online handmade beaded jewelry sale!!) and all throughout the summer (Gift Card Raffle!). Check back in the coming weeks for more details here and on TSWR’s home page!
All for one and one for all. ciao. ~June

They're traditional purple and gold colors with extra special purple crystals and they say Best in Show!
We may never get to Westminster and we know they aren't the "real deal" but we do know that Ma & Da say Me and Haze are Best in (their) Show!!

These are NO ORDINARY hot dogs...

The other night Da grilled up what I thought were just the "usual" but holy cannoli these were quite different. They looked like regular hotdogs... I even pondered if he actually snuck in a pack of Oscar Meyers instead BOL, but these were VENISON!

Wowzers... SO yummy. I had a hard time containing myself through the meal.
Thanks to Uncle Joey for the delicious treat! I hear Ma's making stew this weekend with the other venison you gave us!!

ps. Haze got to eat a venison hot dog too!! :-)

ciao.
