Why "we hates" monkeys and other Fourth of July Festivities...

Today is an awesome day... it's America's birthday! And it is also the annual Nathan's HOT DOG EATING CONTEST in Coney Island!!! Although I've never gone or participated, you KNOW this pup would rock their world over there!! Joey Chestnut, Takeru Kobayashi and reigning FEMALE hot dog eater, Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas got NOTHING on me. And really, WHEN will they realize that they NEED a Canine Competition??? If you are not close to Brooklyn, here is the link to the TV schedule: http://www.sbnation.com/2013/7/4/4491582/2013-nathans-hot-dog-eating-contest-time-tv-schedule-joey-chestnut
You know I'll be watching! ;-)

We don't really dig the noises of fireworks, but our town shared a display last weekend so we are hoping that over here, the loud pops and poom-pooms won't scare the be-jeezus out of me and Haze! Usually we are down the shore, but this year Hurricane Sandy ruined that for us... our beloved beach house is under renovation ad unrentable this summer :-( We took a ride back in April and it was not pretty. So, this year we are home and getting a baby sister this week. Ma and Da are busy still preparing for little CeCe to come home on Saturday so we will be outside alot today and YAY! there's no rain in sight! Barbeque later...not sure if hot dogs are on the menu for the humans, but you KNOW there will be at least one on the grill for me!! woohoo!

ok, so... here's why I hate monkeys. One night I woke up crying. Really sobbing and told Da about this TERRIBLE dream, nay, NIGHTMARE I just had... I was there. In Coney Island! Doing my "thang" and I was ahead... and then there were these monkeys chanting and trying to distract me. They were so MEAN! They zeroed right in on my weak spot. Dirty monkeys...they started teasing me about going bald (this was before Ma and Da got me on my melatonin regimine) and got really nasty and taunted, "Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear... Fuzzy Wuzzy has no hair" (btw, it is still very traumatic even to write about this, but I am thinking it will be good therapy to put it all "out there"). Now, the time limit was coming up and I was only ahead by one. The faster I tried to eat more hot dogs, the more they shouted and then..... I broke. I just could not take their meanspiritedness and I started to cry. And then the hot dog fell out of my mouth at the buzzer! Gasp! I LOST! I HATE MONKEYS!!! ciao for now, ~hdj

I have a title!!!

Woohoo! I am now known as What's the Problem, June?, CGC
Today, Ma and Da and I met Auntie Linda, the Grayhart girls and our friend, Steve at the Old Westbury Gardens where the Big Apple Sporting Society held an AKC Match Show and had CGC evaluations...You knoe Ma's been trying to get a title on me for years, but we tried CAT and I just wanted to stalk the bag and then we tried Rally-O but I "tracked" and whipped Ma around the ring for a NQ :-(
Now, we all know I have two "legs" for my Most Eager Eater/Chow Hound title from Happy Tails Animal Rescue's Annual Strut Your Mutt, but that's not official AKC title...So recently Auntie Linda suggested that Ma give this CGC thing a shot (even though I LOVE to pull!) So we practiced with a martingale and I kinda' got the hang of it...My martingale is not so pretty and I don't have a NICE 6' braided lead to match it (Da calls these Weim-world problems, BOL!) so my pal, Jam lent me one of hers today! I think that sealed the deal ;-) because we kept practicing and sure enough, the very nice lady who did the evaluation quickly announced that the test was over and "Congratulations, CGC June!" Da was taking pictures and all of a sudden we looked up and saw (and heard) Steve and Auntie Linda cheering for me! FOR ME!!!! :-) I got lots and lots of treats and then I retired to the car while the Grayhart girls did their thing! Congrats to Jam and Little Miss Ember for their group placements and wins today!
What's next? Maybe a second shot at Rally? stay tuned..... ciao for now, ~hdj, cgc

Haze-o-matic!

Shout-out to my big little bro... he and Ma (and Da) went to a real agility lesson this week and he did REAL GOOD! Auntie Linda met them there (I did not go 'cause I'm all like "yeah, right... YOU jump over that!") and took pictures. Da also took some videos so Ma could review them and keep practicing. Foundations for agility are important as are strong obedience skills, so Ma's going to keep practicing front crosses, rear awareness (Ma needs to be aware of her rear too BOL) and 2on-2offs in the yard and go to another private class soon and then... Auntie Linda's going to help train them. VALOR, here they come... Hey, Mazeo, I'm proud of you... all that hupping in the back yard seems like it makes you happy, so keep at it!

In other Weimie news, I heard Ma and Da talking about Chicken or the Egg opening back up this week, so you know that could only mean one thing for us... ROADTRIP!!! Woohoo. We are headed down the shore for some beach activity and chicken wings. I'll be sure they take lotsa' pix and Ma lets me on the 'puter to post on my blog next week. ciao, ~hdj

of all the nerve...

Ma is always bogartin' the computer and this girl NEVER can get a word in edgewise~ We have been sitting by soooo patient-like while she posts Weims in need of new homes and plays, er I mean networks on Facebook. I help too, you know... and tonight it's MY TURN TO POST! Last month I travelled to Cherry Hill, NJ to represent with Ma, Da, my rescue Aunties: Patty, Deb and Lynda and the Li'l Foster Mamas and Big Mama Missy and I got to meet Max and Benny! They are adoptable Weimies with TSWR. http://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelterid=NJ457 And then, 2 more times I was an ambassadog at a TriState Weim Rescue Meet & Greet up in the Ramsey, NJ Petco with my buddy Savi and little Chase (he's not bad to hang with... ya ' know... for a puppy!) and even Trixie came by for a bit one time. The second M&G Miss Heidi met her Weim-Dad and went to her furever home! YAY Tomorrow is Haze's birthday. He will be 6! We can't believe how fast time flies!! We will celebrate in the typical Kwiatek family style with a special dinner and a treat (maybe icecream!!) and a prezzie! Don't tell him, but I asked Da to pick out a nice new nooker for him. You see, even though we fight sometimes, I love him!! Okay... I think Ma needs to check out some more Weims online, so I'll be a good girl for once and let her back on. ciao for now, ~June

Four Hebrew National's Three Oscar Meyers Two Nathan's franks, and a hot dog in a toasty warm bun. ciao. Junie

Hot Dogs for LIFE!

Hiya Pals! I hope all my blog friends are okay...We are doing fine since the hurricane and nor'easter. We had a little hiccup but bounced back. I'd like to thank Auntie Linda and the Grayhart girls for welcoming me, Ma, Da, Haze & Grammy and keeping us safe and dry during the evacuation of our town during the stupid hurricane. We always feel "at home" there and despite the conditions outside, inside was comforting! We didnt get to play with the little rockstars, but we heard them!!! They are awesome little pups. We hope you get power back and all the "stuff" can get all fixed up soon.

Now...the main reason for this post is to show off my latest and greatest collar Da bought for me a few weeks ago!! We ALL KNOW how much I love the hot dogs and even Ma and Da's co workers must know too, because a lady that worked with Da showed him a new line of dog stuff one day and said, this one looks like it is right up June's alley! BOL Boy, is she right. It might be hard to see unless you blowup the picture, but it has the food of the gods on it :-) Rosettes, medals and pearls aside, THIS, my friends, is the best. neckwear. ever.
Oh, and if any of you are wondering... YES. I DO NEED a new braided leather lead to coordinate! Ma said something about ordering one for this and 2 others for me and Haze from Kim M. -- With so many gorgeous color combos available, a doggy can never have too many leashes and collars!

Due to the hurricane, our governor postponed trick or treating so these photos were taken right after Halloween. As you can see we BOTH are little devils, but Haze didnt really want to play dress-up. hehehe
Hopefully, Ma wont get too busy again over the next weeks or so so that I can borrow her 'puter again for some more photos and adventure updates. Until next time, be well.

ciao. June
