woof watchers

So... I had to go to the vet TWICE this week.

The first vet visit was the ER and while we like the vets there very much, it's not a fun place to have to go. I had xrays, which FREAK ME OUT. The noises the processor makes is god-awful.
Then while there, everyone brings up my little warty thing that I started licking. Turns out it's suspicious looking. :-( Tuesday I went to our regular vet...we like her, too! She could not get over how fuzzy I am since taking the melatonin she suggested!!! But she also took samples of the fluid in the wart, so please keep your paws crossed that it's not anything serious like cancer. Ma and Da (me, too) are nervous wrecks!

The biggest thing is I hafta go back on woof watchers. I think I can still have me a hot dog once in a while (We all know the consequences if those get cut out completely BOL; see photo above of me HIJACKING the OSCAR MEYER MOBILE!) but ma and da have cut back on the food and increased my green beans and walkies.

ciao for now...

Jade's Senior Scholarship Fund

Hi blog-o-sphere friends!
I wanted to share something with you because it's something near and dear to our hearts at home. Jade's Senior Scholarship Fund is a brand-new program at TriState Weim Rescue for the ongoing care of the senior Weims. It was started by a wonderful family who adopted a senior girl a few years ago. Recently, they lost Jade and wanted to start a fund in her honor and memory for all senior Weims with TSWR. Read about them and the program here.

Losing a gray baby is a hard road to travel, but we feel the same about Blue as the Negrons did about Jade so today, Ma and Da donated to the fund in Memory of Blue.

Please stop by and donate if you can.

ps... the photo is a lovely keepsake we received today from our dear friends in Ohio, The Barnhills.

A VERY SAD DAY

Friends,
Yesterday, one day shy of Blue's 7th Gotcha Day Anniversary with Ma and Da, his journey came full circle.
I see how sad Ma and Da are today and I too am sad. I miss Blue already. He was the sweetest boy. I know I didnt always show it, but I loved him very much...He changed all our lives for the better.
I am sure you know the story of how Blue found Ma and Da and rescued them, but what you might not know is how he changed their lives and as a result changed the lives of many people all over the world. And he changed my life too.
Because of Blue, Ma and Da met people they would have never met... new friends, trainers, all the neighbors, rescue people, other Weim Addicts... they have gone places they never would have either, meeting other Weimaraner people has taken them all over to events and gatherings...Da also found his true calling because of all the training he did with Blue...Blue wound up in the pages of Us magazine (a few times!) and ultimately led Ma and Da to me! You see, I wouldn't be here if Ma and Da hadn't fallen in love so hard with Weims because of Blue. They wanted a mate for him and after a few meet & greets, they found me!

Thank you Blue. I love you.

Mother Theresa

...not!
Ma thought it would be funny to make me wear that silly mini tree-skirt again last night when her and Da took down our Christmas tree!
Da said I looked like the Flying Nun BOL

What do you all think...Should I become Weimie Superior or should I "kick the Habit?"
ciao.

Fetching Tag!

Hiya!
For Christmas, Ma's rescue bought little gifts for the Bd Member's doggies! Fetching Tags. They are awesome tags that you can have hand-stamped with a "tagline" that best describes you! TSWR's miracle Weim, Buster had one made that says Rescue Wonder Boy. The company was so touched by all rescue did for Buster that they decided to offer us a code for anyone who buys a tag so they can donate back to TSWR! In fact, TSWR will receive 20% from the sale of your order of PACO Collars (really cool leatherwear) or FETCHING TAGS (customized dog tags)when anyone uses the code NJWE01
So after a little deliberation, Da actually came up with my tagline...
HOTDOGS
4
LIFE

Is that not perfect? It's two sided as well so on the flip-side is my name and Da's cel # which is perfect for always being able to reach someone in case I get lost, dognapped or iffin' I escape in search of more hotdogs. BOL

ciao.

Happy New Year!!

Wow... I can't believe it's already 2011! I can officially have hot dogs again. BOL!!!

So my New Year's Resolution is to be even badder. No, seriously, I think I will try to be a good girl. I also want to get in better shape, so I'm going to encourage Ma to take me out for more fast-fasts!
I plan to make a few appearances this coming year as an ambassadog for Weimie Rescue, so be on the lookout for a few Meet and Greets in NJ starring... ME! I also will be out and about during the rescue picnic and maybe, just maybe, I'll show up at the Hair of the Dog 5k in May. (Stay tuned for that one!)

I'd also like to take a minute to say thank you to Ma for starting my blog this year... giving me a public voice has been so much fun!

This picture is of me n Blue on New Year's Eve 2006. It's one of Ma's favorites of us.
We spent that weekend down the shore w/ Ma and Da and had a blast running on the beach and playing at the shore in the off-season!

Wishing all of you, my fans, a happy and healthy and prosperous 2011!
ciao.
